APPLICATIONS OF THIOCOLCHICOSIDE:Thiocolchicoside is used to treatment of Muscle spasm. Thiocolchicoside act asan anti-inflammatory drug which is used as muscle relaxant for treatment of painful muscular conditions. Thiocolchicosideworks as a competitive GABA receptor antagonist andalso glycine receptor antagonist which is use as a pain killer.

HOW TO USE: Thiocolchicoside is available in tablet form so you can take thismedicine by mouth. You can take Thiocolchicoside medicine every 12 hours up to5 days.   

HOW THIOCOLCHICOSIDEWORKS: Thiocolchicoside act as a musclerelaxant by activating GABA inhibitory pathways. Thiocolchicosideis an anti-inflammatory drug which is used as muscle relaxant in the treatment of painful muscular conditions.

CONTRAINDICATIONOFTHIOCOLCHICOSIDE: If you havehypersensitivity to Thiocolchicoside kindly avoid this medicine. Kindly avoid thismedicine during pregnancy and lactation.

PHARMACOKINETICS OFTHIOCOLCHICOSIDE: Thiocolchicosideabsorption is rapidly after oral administration. Half-life of Thiocolchicosideis approximately 5 to 6 hours. Average Peak Plasma Concentration ofThiocolchicoside is 49 mg/ml. Thiocolchicoside is mainly excreted by feces(79%) and 20% excreted by urine.

SIDE EFFECTS OF THIOCOLCHICOSIDE: The most common side effect of Thiocolchicoside isallergy and vasovagal reactions. Other side effects are liver injury,pancreatitis, seizures, blood cell disorders, yellowing of skin and eyes, Photosensitivity, Dry mouth, Headacheetc.

Thiocolchicoside can often cause skin disorders like rhabdomyolysis, and reproductive disorders. In experimental animals,Thiocolchicoside is teratogenic. Sometimes Thiocolchicoside damageschromosomes.

PRECAUTIONS: If you see any signs of liver toxicity like Abdominal pain inthe upper right portion of the abdomen, Fatigue, Loss of appetite, Nausea andvomiting stop to taking Thiocolchicoside. If you have a diarrhoea during the administration of this drug kindlyavoid medicine. Take this medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding only ifit is clearly needed.
