IUPAC NAME:2-(furan-2-ylmethylsulfinyl)-N-[(Z)-4-[4-(piperidin-1-ylmethyl)pyridin-2-yl]oxybut-2-enyl]acetamide 

Precautions:

Alcohol should not be consumed in cases ofstomach ulcers and intestines or acid reflux disease or in patients who are atrisk for aspirationpneumonia. It is not ascertained if Lafutidine can harm the unborn baby or not.Hence this medicine is recommended in pregnant women only if other alternativesare not available. This medicine is not known to affect your driving ability.Lafutidine is known to secrete in breast milk. It is advised not to use thismedicine in breastfeeding mothers. Talk to doctor if you have kidney or liverproblems.

Adverse effects: 

Lafutidinemay have some serious side effects but these are rare. These side effects mayinclude skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, tongue, throat, hands,feet, ankles or lower legs. Inform doctor in case you notice any of thementioned symptoms. Some common side effects may occur fatigue, diarrhea,protein in urine, muscle pain, increased uric acid level in blood,constipation.

General Notes:

Avoidtaking aspirin and other painkillers used to treat arthritis, headache orperiod pain. This drug may irritate the stomach and make condition worse. Avoidcoffee, tea, cocoa and cola drinks because these contain ingredients that mayirritate stomach. Eat smaller and more frequent meal. Eat slowly and chew foodcarefully. Try not to rush at meal times and should stop or cut down onsmoking.   

Storage:

Storeat room temperature, away from lights, moisture, children and pets. Do notstore at bathroom. Do not flush down the toilet or pour them into a drainunless instructed to do so. Properly discard this medicine when it is expiredand no longer needed.

Overdose:

Ifyou missed a dose take it as soon as possible remember. If it is near next doseskip missed one. Do not take double dose to cover up. Take the doses daily sametime to remember. If someone has overdosed and has serious symptoms such aspassing out or trouble breathing, Contact doctor immediately.
